Cheapest sealant: Acrylic Latex at $58.50Acrylic latex is paintable and easiest to apply but has the shortest lifespan (5-10 years). Silicone offers excellent flexibility and waterproofing (20+ years) but is not paintable. Polyurethane is the most durable for high-movement joints. Hybrid sealants combine silicone flexibility with paintability.
Consider silicone for high-exposure areasFor a project this size, using silicone or hybrid sealant on areas with the most water exposure (windows, door thresholds) can extend the time before re-caulking is needed, even if acrylic latex is used for the remaining joints.
This is a material estimate only. Actual tube coverage varies with application technique, joint irregularities, and temperature. Always buy a few extra tubes to avoid mid-project shortages.
